About Noreen Hosny

Designing for Health Equity

I’m Noreen Hosny, a recent Princeton graduate with a degree in Molecular Biology and a minor in Visual Arts. As a cancer researcher, aspiring physician, and visual designer, I’m driven by a simple belief: every patient deserves to understand their health, regardless of language, literacy, or income.

Through my pro bono health design initiative, I partner with nonprofits and clinics to transform complex medical and scientific information into clear, compassionate, accessible resources. My work spans patient guides, infographics, annual reports, and multilingual educational materials.

To date, I’ve collaborated with more than 30 organizations nationwide, saving partners over $90,000 in design costs. More importantly, this work has helped thousands of patients, families, and communities navigate their health with greater confidence, clarity, and dignity.

My Values

What Drives This Work

Clarity Over Complexity
Medical information can be lifesaving — but only if patients can understand it. I break down dense clinical language into plain, visual, human-centered communication that meets people where they are.
Equity in Access
Good design shouldn't be a luxury. I believe every community — especially those who are low-income, uninsured, or underserved — deserves professional health communication resources.
Design with Purpose
Every project I take on is driven by mission, not just aesthetics. The most beautiful design is the one that changes someone's health outcome — that gets a patient to show up, understand, and act.
Cultural Sensitivity
Health experiences are shaped by culture, identity, and community. I design with deep care for the populations served, creating materials that are linguistically and culturally relevant.
Evidence-Based Storytelling
I bring together scientific rigor and narrative craft. My background in research means every visual is medically accurate; my design background ensures it's beautiful and memorable.
Community Partnership
The best health communication is built with communities, not just for them. I collaborate deeply with organizational partners to center the voices and needs of the people we serve.

My team recently had the pleasure of working with Noreen on the redesign of our program logo. She took time to understand our program and audience, resulting in a new logo that is both visually-engaging and representative of our work. Noreen is incredibly attentive to detail and communicative, creating a smooth design process from start to finish. Throughout the process, Noreen consistently exceeded our expectations and we are so grateful for her time and expertise!

Noreen is a rock star! She took on our request to design our Theory of Change graphic that was drawn from multiple opinions and a complicated narrative — creating a beautiful design that immediately brought to light our vision. What was impressive — beyond her amazing graphic skills, was her patience as we muddled through what we wanted — changing our minds more than once! She was enthusiastic, open minded and a joy to work with. We feel so fortunate. And if you are interested in seeing her work, please ask — it's beautiful.

Noreen worked to help design a new logo for a sports related event at the American Cancer Society. Noreen was very easy to work with and produced a quality logo. Noreen also did all of this under a very tight deadline and without any hesitation. I would recommend Noreen to anyone looking for a designer. She was great to work with.

Noreen is an incredible graphic designer and I could not recommend her highly enough. She diligently listened to our needs and vision as a Catchafire volunteer, and contributed her own design insights and expertise to produce a series of graphics on the circular food economy in a grant application and that we will use on our website. Not only that, she produced these in record time and we were able to include six graphics on a grant application in two weeks! We are 100% satisfied with her work and strongly recommend using Noreen to bring your organization's vision to life.
